Shortlisted candidates for the Nigerian Army’s 92 Regular Recruits Intake (92RRI) will be screened in their states of origin from November 17 to December 1, 2026. As of Thursday, November 5, however, the Army had not posted the shortlist on its official recruitment portal, despite claims on several recruitment websites that it was published on November 4.

Key Highlights

  • 92RRI screening runs from November 17 to December 1, 2026, in candidates’ states of origin.
  • The official portal, recruit.army.mil.ng, says shortlisted names “would be published” on the Army’s website; no list or PDF was on the portal as of November 5.
  • Recruitment websites claim the shortlist was released on November 4, 2026, but this has not been confirmed by the Army.
  • There is no pre-selection computer-based test (CBT) and no special recruitment centre.
  • Candidates must bring their NIN and BVN slips and original educational certificates.
  • Recruitment into the Nigerian Army is free.

Is the Nigerian Army 92RRI shortlist out?

Not on the Army’s official portal yet. When The Trumpet checked the recruitment portal on Thursday morning, it showed no shortlist link or downloadable list. The site states that there is no ongoing recruitment application and that the names of shortlisted candidates for screening “would be published on the NA website for the awareness of all candidates.”

Some recruitment blogs reported on Wednesday that the 92RRI shortlist had been released and directed applicants to recruitment.army.mil.ng, an Army address used for earlier intakes. That address did not load when The Trumpet tried to open it on Thursday.

Applicants should rely only on the Army’s official channels and should not download lists or pay for “shortlist checks” offered on WhatsApp, Telegram or unofficial websites.

How to check the Nigerian Army 92RRI shortlist when it is published

  1. Type the official portal address, recruit.army.mil.ng, directly into your browser. Do not use links shared on social media.
  2. Look for the shortlisted candidates notice or list for the 92RRI.
  3. If the list is published by state, open the one for your state of origin.
  4. Search for your name or application number and note any screening venue and reporting instructions.

Nigerian Army 92RRI screening dates and venues

According to the Army’s recruitment portal, shortlisted candidates will report to their respective states of origin for the screening exercise from November 17 to December 1, 2026.

The Army says there is no special centre for recruitment and that all screening of potential recruits will take place in candidates’ states of origin. Candidates should check the shortlist, once published, for their exact venue and reporting date.

What the Army requires at 92RRI screening

The general instructions on the official portal state that candidates must:

  • Present all original copies of their educational certificates, from primary to secondary school.
  • Not bring electronic or recording devices to the state recruitment venue.
  • Have no tattoos, piercings or inscriptions on any part of the body other than tribal marks. Multiple ear piercings are not allowed for female candidates.
  • Not belong to any cult, secret society or fraternity.

The Army warns that any candidate found to have forged or falsified documents will be withdrawn from training. It also advises candidates not to give any gratification or inducement to anyone to help them in the exercise.

Candidates in doubt can call the Army’s recruitment support lines listed on the portal: 193, 07036499094 and 09041116433.

Nigerian Army warns against 92RRI recruitment scams

The Army states on its portal that recruitment into the Nigerian Army is free. No individual, agent or officer is authorised to sell recruitment slots or collect money from applicants.

Candidates should be wary of WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels and websites promising guaranteed enlistment, fake shortlist PDFs, or demands for “processing fees”. Anyone asked for money should report it.

What candidates should do before screening

With screening due to start on November 17, applicants should keep checking the official portal for the shortlist, gather their original certificates, NIN and BVN slips, and plan their travel to their state of origin.
