- Urges Nigerians to give Tinubu a chance to prove himself
Nigerians have been urged to give the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government a chance to turn around the country’s socio-political, economic and welfare of the citizens, as the president will prove himself capable of redeeming the country with time and support of the populace.
Founder of Jehovah Nissi Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, who gave the charge in an exclusive interview with The Trumpet on the political situation of the country, maintained that President Tinubu is a Godsend leader to the country and as such Nigerians should give him a chance to prove himself and move the nation forward to experience positive change, true democracy, peace, development, justice and equity.
In his words: “Nigeria, the most populous black nation in sub-Saharan Africa will experience a great turnaround that will place the country and its citizens on the verge of positive change never seen before in its checkered history.
“Under President Tinubu’s government, you can see that he is uprooting, planting and putting the right people in the right places, appointing ministers into crucial ministries and also monitoring them, like his angels on earth.
“The fuel subsidy that was managed under previous administrations was a fraud, a scam. In Benin Republic, fuel is sold for N800, but in Nigeria, it was still selling for N245 per litre before the recent increment. Although the markets did not do enough to help the country, what we need most now in Nigeria is food on our tables and not fine words.”
Citing Moliere, he stressed that “it is good food and not fine words that keep me alive,” adding: “I wish to draw the attention of our leaders to the fact that what our suffering masses need is good food. They have had a surfeit of fine words.”
Prophet Ikuru bemoaned that Nigeria’s predicament derived from a physiological confusion caused by the people’s inability or refusal to reconcile the different elements and segments in the national polity.
“This is what the president wants to fight now in the new Nigeria. He has been able to clear the visa issue with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the G20 Summit in India and the President of UAE has lifted the visa ban on Nigeria.
“The country needs to move forward now that we have a visionary leader like President Tinubu to do the job. The country must go forward and this is why we need Tinubu, he is the Saviour that will correct the mistakes of our past leaders. He will save the country from poverty. We just have to give him time and he will do it.”
On the 2023 general elections, he said: “For me, I am usually very careful before I speak out, because whatever I say people will read meanings to it. I prophesied that Peter Obi will not win the election and that Tinubu is God’s choice.
“Some men of God said Peter Obi will win the election, but at the end, Tinubu won. Elections are not won on social media, but on ballot on elections day. I thank the Almighty Father for giving me the true vision that President Tinubu will win the election and he won.”
He also pointed out that given the crime rate in the country, there was the need to pray seriously for Nigerian youth, as they were the ones the politicians normally use to commit crimes, instigate violence and cause other problems.
“I, therefore, pray for parents to talk to their children to stay away from crime and violence,” he said.
Born in Ughelli North Council of Delta State, he narrated that he was taken to the King of Otuama Town to stay with him, saying: “I attended my primary and secondary school there and thereafter I moved to Bayelsa State to stay with my uncle where I worked and serve him for some time.
“I later decided to go to Lagos, where I joined the entertainment industry where I acted in several movies with various roles. My roles were mainly satanic, particularly how the devil operates. I acted under the great film producer Teco Benson and AJ Production, who is also a great prophet now.
“However, I was not fulfilled in the movie industry. With the roles I was made to play, I later learnt that there was a big movie market in Nigeria, which I joined and started producing movies. I marketed several movies and I became known and popular in Alaba Market and environs.”
On how he became a minister of God, he said initially, he didn’t know that he had the calling of God until he started seeing visions and telling people what God directed him to tell them.
“In short, I thought I had an Ogbanje spirit until Senior Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied to me that I am a man of God. I later joined Christ Embassy where Pastor Chris Oyakhilome groomed us in a way like the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we will lay hands on people and they will begin to manifest, healing and casting out demons from them.
“I started as a cell member and grew to become a pastor, handled a cell from PCU to PCF and the Heavens Department, Finance Department of the Church, and served in the department many years before the Almighty God called me and showed me my ministry.
“God said I will give you a ministry called Jehovah Nissi Salvation Ministry. We later started the Church at Egbeda in Lagos although we waited for some time before we opened the Church. My true prophecy brought members to me because my prophecies never fail. I don’t do evangelism on radio or television to attract people to my church, but my prophecies are real.”

He recalled that on the Dana air crash from Abuja to Lagos, he saw at 7:00 a.m. and told his members that at exactly 12:00 noon. the plane crashed and killed all people on board including the pilots and crew members.
The cleric also recalled how it was revealed to him that an army general was killed in Bayelsa at a burial in Otuoke, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s place.
“I saw where the general died and I went to the army Cantonment in Ojo to tell them, but they didn’t listen to me, but the following Saturday it happened exactly as it was revealed to me. There were other clear revelations about a former Governor of Kaduna State at that time and former National Security Adviser (NSA), General Patrick Aziza.
“There were several other visions and prophecies including the 2015 general elections. I told the world that President Jonathan’s finger would not march with the machine to vote in an interview with MITV and it was so.
Speaking on the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2019-2020, he said: “I closed my church before the whole world started closing their Churches over COVID-19. God told me before my birthday to close my Church and that death will pass through the world soon and since then I have not opened the Church not until six weeks ago we started skeletal service in Ikeja, where I want to move my Church, although Egbeda remains the headquarters of the Church for now.
On palliatives for fuel subsidy removal, he explained that the Church distributed items to people to assist the government because President Tinubu is a Godsend leader, adding that since independence, successive governments were forced to castigate and denounce subsidy removal, but until now the country’s leaders only made gestures rather than take action on the issue of palliatives.
Prophet Ikuru further stated that in his Church, the tithes and offerings from members are given to those who need help the following Sunday, just as bread and tea are distributed to members for which the Church is now being called Sadaka Church.
“I don’t look for crowds, but people look for me. Our Church is like the kingdom of God and can be compared to honey poured on the ground, which attracts ants that will lick it. In our Church helpers who love me and my prophecies have helped one way or the other to sow seeds to the ministry. I don’t force people to sow seeds in the Church
“I was with a man of God, who was threatening someone in Thailand, saying I pray for you and God has answered your prayers and you don’t want to pay me the seed you promised me, so I will invoke God’s wrath on you if you don’t pay the seed today, not tomorrow. We don’t do that in our Church. We pray and give out prophecies without collecting money,” he added.
He charged men of God in the country to try to hear from God before speaking what God told them to members of the public, adding that even if a man of God gives a prophecy that fails to manifest, that doesn’t mean that he is not a genuine man of God.
