The United World Congress for Global Diplomats(UN-WCD) has commended President Bola Tinubu’s developmental strides as Nigeria marks her 66th independence anniversary.
The group’s head of Policy and Diplomatic Affairs, Amb. Larry -Goodwill made the commendation in Port Harcourt on Thursday at a seminar to mark the 2026 World Maritime Day.
The ceremony which coincided wth Nigeria’s 66th indepence day also highlighted achievements of the Tinubu-led government.
Ajiola explained that the various visionary policies of the present administration were aimed at expanding economic opportunities and encouraging Peace and national growth.
“Tinubu has performed well, and I’m bold to say that this years’ anniversary is worth celebrating.
“All we need now, is citizens’ cooperation and patriotism to help translate these policies into solutions,”he said.
Speaking on the year’s theme: ‘From policy to practice while empowering exellence’ Ajiola said that the role of citizens in effective policy implementation cannot be over emphasized.
“The United Nations Sustsinable Development Goals(SDG) 17 emphasizes the strenght in effective partnerships, an attribute which citizens must not undermine.
“Nigerians must begin to support laudable economic policies of the federal government so as to make them work.
“These economic policies are established to enhance job creation, promote ease of doing business and tackle poverty,” he added.
Ajiola particularlly, applauded the blue economy agenda, saying when fully harnessed, would further enhance trans-boarder trade as well as expand opportunities across the maritime value chain.
He therefore, urged Nigerians to focus more on contributing to nation building rather than comparing the country’s growth rate to that of the advanced nations.
Admonishing new inductees on patriotism, Ajiola urged them to leverage on avalable channels provided by the UN-WCD to promote peace within communities.

He also enjoined them to always strive towards improving the living conditions of the less privillaged in the society.
Ajiola called for collaboration from public spirited induviduals as UN-WCD strives towards ensuring societal peace and support for humanity.
Mr Chris Akuma, one of the inductees Commended UN-WCD for recognising acts of charity and patriotism which he said had remained pivotal for membership admission.
“UN-WCD is a platform that has continued to globally improve humanity. alAs new industees, we are committed to this noble mandate,”he said.
