A director of the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) was killed during the terrorist attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train .

A Close Friend of the deceased, Bashir Usman, confirmed his death, via a tweet on his official Twitter page @senatorbash. He tweeted “In total submission to the will of almighty Allah, we announce the death of a fellow GSCS alumnus – Abdu Isa Kofar Mata (Gigi) in last night’s attack on Kaduna-Abuja train.

“We pray to Allah subhanahu to grant his soul eternal rest.” Kofar Mata was killed on Monday night, March 28, during a terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna passenger train.

During the attack, many passengers were kidnapped some were shot dead and an unascertained number of the passengers also sustained various degrees of injury, The Trumpet gathered.

The deceased will be buried in Kano as the funeral prayer would hold upon arrival with the corpse from Kaduna. A family source of the deceased said the late 55-year-old Director died of gunshots fired by the terrorists during the attack. He had worked at Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN).

The Nigerian Railway Corporation on Tuesday announced the suspension of train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route indefinitely following the attacks by terrorists.

The train attack happened after terrorists, invaded the Kaduna International Airport located in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
