Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, has announced plans to change his birthday date in what appears to be a symbolic break from his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, as their long-running feud continues to escalate.

The twins were both born on November 18, 1981, a date they have jointly celebrated for over four decades, including during the height of their music success as the award-winning duo P-Square.

However, Mr. P’s latest announcement signals what many observers see as a deeper breakdown in their relationship, which has been marked by repeated public disagreements, legal allegations, and disputes over music ownership.

The latest tension between the brothers reportedly intensified following disagreements over the song “Winning”, with both parties trading accusations over its production and ownership.

The controversy added to already strained relations that saw the duo split in 2017, briefly reunite in 2021, and separate again by 2024.

Beyond music-related disputes, the brothers have also been involved in public exchanges over alleged petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), further widening the rift within the family.

Despite previous attempts at reconciliation, including a widely celebrated reunion in 2021, the relationship between the twins has deteriorated once again, with Mr. P now taking what appears to be a symbolic step away from their shared identity.

The shared November 18 birthday had remained one of the few remaining links between the brothers, even after their professional and personal separation.

Mr. P’s decision to alter the date is now being interpreted by fans as one of the clearest signs yet that reconciliation may be increasingly unlikely.

Neither Paul Okoye nor representatives of the family have issued a fresh response to the latest development at the time of this report.
