The mutilated body of a Director of the Department of Research and Statistics in Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr Gbenga Olofingboyegun, who was declared missing on Thursday has been found dead in Akure, the state capital.
The Trumpet gathered that the lifeless body of Olofingboyegun was found in Saint Theresa Primary School beside Saint Peter’s Unity School on Sunday after he left the office for undisclosed reasons.
According to eyewitnesses, Olofingboyegun’s head and other sensitive parts of his body had been cut off and taken away by the suspected assailants.
The Trumpet learned that Olofingboyegun was still in the office suit and tie he wore the day he went missing when his decomposing body was found.
A family source said they thought he was kidnapped and were waiting for the kidnappers to call and demand a ransom after all efforts to trace him were fruitless until his decomposing body was found.
However, the Ondo State Police Image Maker, Mrs Funmi Odunlami confirmed the discovery of the mutilated body, saying she was not sure about the identity of the decomposing body.
