As the final farewell to the late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, approaches, security chiefs in Imo State are ramping up efforts to ensure maximum safety throughout the November 2 burial ceremony. Authorities have assured the public that strict security measures will be in place to facilitate a seamless and dignified event.
In a condolence visit over the weekend, top security officials—including Imo State Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma and Brigadier General U.A. Lawal, Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze—personally assured Iwuanyanwu’s family of their readiness to oversee all aspects of security for the event. ASP Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, issued a statement confirming these preparations, emphasizing that security agencies are fully committed to maintaining order.
“Strategic deployments will cover key locations to safeguard guests, ensuring a respectful and orderly environment,” stated Okoye. He further added that the security operation will honor Iwuanyanwu’s contributions to the Igbo community, reflecting the profound respect he earned during his lifetime.

In addition to police and military collaboration, Justice Nze, Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Council, expressed local support for the security arrangements, pledging cooperation with all involved parties to uphold peace and order.
