The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owhelogbo Ward 5, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, has welcomed a massive defection of members, as followers of Dr. Goodnews Agbi, Special Adviser on Project Monitoring/Audit to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, officially dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the ruling APC.
Leading the defectors, Mr. Omojutobor Vincent expressed excitement over the leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay in the ward, Isoko Nation, and Delta State, saying their confidence in these leaders prompted the switch.
Renouncing their membership of the NNPP, Mr. Omojutobor stated, “My followers and I were used and abandoned by those we worked for in the last general elections. This has led us to take the bold decision to join the APC family today and work with our leader, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, whose leadership prowess we have admired for years.”
He further declared their commitment to the APC’s ideology, vowing to contribute their best to the party’s growth and ensure it retains the presidency and takes over Delta State Government House in the 2027 general elections.
Receiving the defectors, Owhelogbo APC Ward Chairman, Comrade Vincent Ubogu, applauded their decision to align with the ruling party, assuring them of full inclusion in all party affairs. He emphasized that their return was a testament to the APC’s credibility, transparency, and leadership strength in both Delta State and the nation at large.

In his remarks, Chief Joshua Oghoole, a prominent APC leader in the ward, assured the new members that they were now bonafide members of the party and would enjoy equal opportunities as the older members. He urged them to throw their full support behind Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay and align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to uplift citizens and boost economic growth.
Elder Jonathan Ugu and Barr. Iche Ifenedo also welcomed the defectors, affirming that the APC remains open to all willing to join from opposition parties. They, however, cautioned that while the party embraces newcomers, it strongly frowns upon anti-party activities.
Among the top political figures present at the event were Chief William Ebo, Hon. Efe Olokor, Prince Simon Enajedu, and Dr. James Ighoroje. Some of the notable followers of Engr. Goodnews Agbi who defected to APC alongside Mr. Omojutobor included Mr. Victor Ethe, Mr. Taye Inonoje, Mr. Celestine Apete, Mrs. Dorcas Emewhuru, and Deborah Otobo.
With this massive realignment, political analysts predict that the APC’s growing influence in Isoko North and Delta State could reshape the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
