Manchester United have turned their attention towards Real Madrid to sign Casemiro after failing to convince Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong to embrace a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils having sustained two defeats and would likely be plummeted by a formidable Liverpool on Monday at Old Trafford, look to bolster their defensive midfield before time.

Reports reaching The Trumpet reveal that Manchester United have made contact with the Brazilian and have tendered a mouth-watering offer which will see him become the fourth highest paid player in the Premier League after Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.

Fred and McTominay have been classified as players, who can not provide Manchester United with the class needed in the midfield, with Paul Scholes depicting them as flops.

Erik ten Hag is eager to get the club back on track and has identified Casemiro as a target which Manchester United are ready to splash up to €80 million to Real Madrid.

The player’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu ends in 2025 but Manchester United are ready to offer him 5 years deal that will see him earn about €18million annually.

Casemiro joined Real Madrid in 2013 from Sao Paulo for €6million and was sent on loan the following season to FC Porto where he scored 4 goals in 41 appearances coupled with 3 assists.

The 30-year-old returned to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2015 and sealed his spot in the midfield for Los Blancos where he has played 336 matches, and netted 31 times while providing 29 assists.
