Chelsea. suffered a heartbreaking defeat on Saturday, after losing 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in London.

The tightly contested final appeared destined for extra time before City forward Antoine Semenyo struck in the 72nd minute to seal victory for Pep Guardiola’s side and hand Manchester City another major domestic trophy.

Chelsea created several chances throughout the encounter but struggled to break down City’s disciplined defence.

Despite periods of strong possession and attacking pressure, the Blues failed to find an equaliser as City held firm in the closing stages of the match.

The decisive moment came midway through the second half when Semenyo capitalised on a defensive lapse to calmly slot home the winning goal, sending the City supporters into celebration inside Wembley Stadium.

However, Manchester City once again demonstrated their experience on the big stage, controlling key moments of the contest to emerge champions.

The victory adds another FA Cup title to Manchester City’s growing list of honours under Guardiola, while Chelsea are left to reflect on missed opportunities in one of English football’s biggest fixtures.
