MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MainPower) has commenced electricity disconnection in Enugu for customers who have failed to settle their September electricity bills, covering energy consumed in August.

The electricity distribution company made the call in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emeka Ezeh, on Tuesday in Enugu.
According to Ezeh, MainPower’s field teams will carry out disconnections as part of the company’s revenue collection drive.
He urged customers who are yet to settle their electricity bills to make payment promptly to avoid disruption to their electricity supply during the Independence public holiday.

“Customers whose electricity supply is disconnected for non-payment will be required to pay the applicable reconnection fee before supply can be restored,” Ezeh said.
He added that MainPower remained committed to improving the reliability of electricity services to its customers while urging them to pay their bills on time.
Customers can make payments at any MainPower Cash Office or through authorised collection agents and electronic payment platforms.
The company listed bank applications, Quickteller, E-Transact and BuyPower among the available payment channels.
Ezeh said MainPower appreciated the cooperation of its customers and appealed for continued support through prompt payment of electricity bills.
“MainPower solicits customers’ support in making prompt payment of their electricity bills to avoid service disruption,” he said.
