Ademola Lookman is poised to transfer from Atalanta to Atletico Madrid for a fee of €35 million (£30.3 million).
The 28-year-old striker will head to Spain for a medical examination after both clubs have agreed on the transfer amount.
Born in London, the Nigerian international has been playing in Serie A since 2022, netting 55 goals for Atalanta after his move from RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
Among his notable achievements is a hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, which helped secure Atalanta’s first European trophy and ended Bayer’s impressive 51-match unbeaten streak.
Lookman began his professional career at Charlton Athletic, making his debut in 2015, before transferring to Everton two years later, where he scored in his first Premier League match.

However, after struggling to make an impact following his £11 million transfer, he had a successful loan spell with RB Leipzig in early 2018 and subsequently made a permanent move to Germany in July 2019 for £22.5 million.
His first full season with Leipzig was disappointing, as he only made one Bundesliga start during a season affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
He then spent two seasons on loan in the Premier League, first with Fulham and then Leicester City, before joining Atalanta, where his career took a positive turn.
