Liverpool FC have released images of a planned permanent memorial in honour of late forward Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, following their tragic deaths last summer.
Jota, 28, and Andre Silva, 25, reportedly died in a car crash on July 3 in Zamora Province, Spain. Andre Silva was a player for Portuguese second-division side F.C. Penafiel.
According to the club, the memorial titled “Forever 20” will celebrate the lives of the two brothers and reflect the admiration shown by family members, teammates and supporters around the world.
The sculpture features a flowing heart design inspired by Jota’s trademark goal celebration.

The memorial will be installed on 97 Avenue near the stadium, although the club has yet to announce an official unveiling date.
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 appearances.
During his time at the club, he won the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
