Kano govt pays NECO fees for 29,031 pupils

Examination fees for 29,031 pupils have been paid by Kano State Government. They are sitting for the 2022 National Examination Council tests.

Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, disclosed this to newsmen in Kano while reacting to a media report insinuating that the state’s pupils might miss the 2022 NECO examination over the government’s inability to settle their fees.

He said the money for the examination has been substantially settled as the state paid N336 million as fees for 29,031 pupils.

He stated that the payment included 15,313 pupils that had nine credits from its qualifying examination and 1,018 with disabilities.

Garba said the payment also covered 7,300 pupils for Special Intervention which is basically for Girl Child Education while the local governments paid for 5,400.
