The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced a 10-day EId-el- Kabir holiday for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the ministry, Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, the ministry said boarding schools are to proceed on holiday from Saturday, May 23, 2026 and resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The statement further disclosed that day schools would begin the Sallah break from Friday, May 22, 2026 and resume academic activities on Monday, June 1, 2026.
The ministry advised parents and guardians of students in boarding schools to pick up their children on the approved closing date and ensure their prompt return on the official resumption date to avoid disruption of academic activities.

According to the statement, the holiday arrangement applies to all public and private primary and secondary schools operating within the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, congratulated students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders in the education sector on the forthcoming Id-el Kabir celebration.
He also prayed for a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration across the state.
