Jamie Vardy, the well-known striker who has played for Leicester City since 2012, has announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the 2024-2025 season.

During his time at Leicester, Vardy helped the team achieve many great things, including winning the Premier League in the 2015-2016 season, the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and two Championship titles. He has scored a lot of goals and has become a beloved figure in the club’s history.

His exit comes after Leicester’s recent drop from the Premier League, ending a partnership with the team that has lasted 13 years. Both fans and the club have shown heartfelt appreciation for his dedication, celebrating his remarkable journey from playing in lower leagues to becoming a club legend.

On social media, fans have shared their thoughts:

@FrarinoRomaoexpressed his sadness about Vardy’s departure, saying, “I feel awful this day is coming, but I knew it would arrive someday. I’ve had 13 incredible years at this club, filled with a lot of success, and some challenges, but mostly amazing moments. Leicester will always hold a special place in my heart.”

@Wizzy_Chibueke commented on Vardy’s achievements and compared him to other players, saying, “He’s one of the luckiest footballers ever, winning trophies with Leicester. Imagine if a player like Harry Kane had gone his whole career without winning any trophies.”

Some fans reflected on Vardy’s long and successful career at Leicester, noting his contributions over the years, including winning the Premier League title and being recognized as the league’s best player in 2016. They also highlighted that he scored 23 goals in the 2019-20 season, earning him the league’s top scorer award.

One fan from Coventry even shared their admiration, saying, “I don’t usually comment on Leicester City, but Jamie Vardy is a fantastic player. He’s everything you want in a player—coming up through the lower leagues to become an England player and scoring nearly 200 goals for the club. Much respect to him.”

@Spanki said “The 38-year-old has been at Leicester for 13 seasons after making the move from Fleetwood in 2012
He won the Premier League title with Leicester in 2016 as well as the league’s Player of the Season
Vardy also claimed the golden boot in the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 23 goals”.

@rogerthedodge said “Not too many times as a Cov fan I’d comment on LCFC apart from banter but Jamie Vardy what a player-everything a fan wants from a player. The rise from non league to an England player & scoring nearly 200goals for a club. Top player respect”.
