The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online service that allows candidates seeking admission through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results without visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
The new system, which initially supports results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is designed to make the O’Level result submission process faster and more convenient for candidates.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify a candidate’s examination details with the relevant examination body before the result is uploaded to the candidate’s profile.
The board said the development would reduce the pressure on CBT centres, particularly during periods when large numbers of candidates are trying to complete their admission-related processes.
In a statement issued on Monday by its acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said the initiative is part of efforts to improve its services through technology.
The board explained that the system would also help reduce problems associated with manual uploads, including incorrect subject or grade entries, misplaced certificates and the submission of unverified or fraudulent results.
JAMB said candidates must first obtain a result verification code through the designated result verification portal.
Applicants are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), select the number of O’Level sittings and indicate the examination body or bodies whose results they intend to verify.

They must also provide their email address and GSM number before making payment through the available payment gateway.
After payment, candidates will be required to enter relevant examination information, including their examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the information has been successfully verified against the records of the examination body, the candidate will receive a verification code.
Candidates must then send “VERIFY” followed by the verification code to 55019 or 66019, as directed by JAMB.
The verified result will subsequently be uploaded, and the candidate will receive a notification confirming the submission.
Candidates who have two O’Level results will need to log into their JAMB e-facility dashboard and select the “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” option.
After entering their verification code, their verified results will be displayed on the platform. Candidates can then select the subjects required for their admission process.
According to JAMB, applicants must choose a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects. A subject cannot be selected more than once.
After making the required selections, candidates should click “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the process.
JAMB said candidates would receive a notification once the upload had been successfully completed.
The Board said the new service would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres experience high patronage, long queues or network-related challenges.
By allowing candidates to complete the process remotely, JAMB said it expects to reduce unnecessary physical visits and paperwork while improving the overall candidate experience.
The Board also said the integration of its e-Facility platform with examination bodies would make it easier to authenticate results before they are added to candidates’ profiles.
JAMB described the initiative as part of its broader digital transformation and customer-focused service delivery agenda under Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina.
The Board said it would continue working with examination bodies and other relevant government agencies to expand digital services and simplify admission-related processes for candidates.
The introduction of home-based O’Level result verification and upload gives 2026 UTME candidates another option for completing an important part of the admission process without depending entirely on physical CBT centre visits.
