The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area in Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has presented a proposed ₦15.76 billion 2026 budget to the legislative arm for consideration and passage, outlining a broad development plan focused on infrastructure, healthcare, and human capital growth.

Tagged the “Budget of Consolidation,” the financial proposal was formally laid before councillors on April 7, 2026. The budget comprises ₦7.43 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦8.32 billion earmarked for capital projects, reflecting the administration’s emphasis on physical development and service delivery.

Ogorugba said the budget is designed to address key needs of the people, with priority given to peace and security, youth and women empowerment, healthcare delivery, and infrastructure expansion. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent resource management and impactful governance at the grassroots level.

Among the major projects outlined are the renovation of primary healthcare centres across several communities, completion of residential quarters for key council officials, and the completion of the Otor-Igho Cottage Hospital. Other projects include the renovation and furnishing of the legislative building, as well as the dualisation of roads linking parts of the local government to the Ozoro-Kwale Expressway.

Responding, the Leader of the House, Hon. Pascal Emeluaha, praised the chairman’s leadership and developmental strides across the wards. He assured that the legislative arm would give the budget prompt attention to ensure timely implementation for the benefit of residents.

The proposed budget, once passed, is expected to drive socio-economic growth and strengthen service delivery across Isoko North in the 2026 fiscal year.
