Insecurity: Police convoke stakeholders meeting in Delta

Following the incessant killings, cultism and other social vices rocking Sapele, the administrative headquarters of Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Harrison Nwabuisi, has called for a town hall meeting with stakeholders to find solutions to the menace.

The DPO, who confirmed the meeting to The Trumpet Newspaper, said he is in touch with the Area Command, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to hold a town hall meeting with the theme: “Community Safety Partnership”. The Trumpet Gathered

He said that the youths would be given prominence at the meeting in order for them to speak on issues of insecurity in the area. The meeting is also to proffer solutions to the insecurity bedevilling the once quiet town.

The date for the meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, 4th June 2022, at 10:00 am at Okpe Hall Olympia.

He lamented the situation where people are afraid to give information to the police, adding that he wants to educate the people on the need to trust the police.

According to him, there will be a suggestion box where people are to drop their opinions and would be followed up by the police.
