His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, won in 11 local government areas.
Governor Adeleke’s victory came after a closely contested election in which the incumbent governor campaigned for a second term on the strength of his administration’s achievements in the state.
Following his re-election, Governor Adeleke assured Osun residents that he would not disappoint them, promising to consolidate the gains recorded by his administration while addressing areas where his government had fallen short.
The governor is expected to begin his second term with a renewed focus on delivering on his campaign promises and sustaining ongoing development projects across the state.
