The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Taraba State has announced the display of the national register of voters and simultaneous collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the state’s 168 registration areas.
The exercise, according to a statement issued by Ngunan Iyongo, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, is scheduled to run from Friday, October 9, to Friday, October 16, 2026.
Key Highlights
- INEC will display the voters’ register and distribute PVCs across Taraba’s 168 registration areas.
- The exercise runs from Friday, October 9, to Friday, October 16, 2026, daily from 9am to 3pm.
- Phase one registrants from August to December 2025 can check and collect their cards.
- Voters are encouraged to verify their details and raise claims or objections.
- After October 16, PVC collection will revert to INEC’s local government area offices.
INEC said the display of the voters’ register would take place across all the 168 wards in Taraba State, while PVC collection would be conducted simultaneously during the exercise.
Who Can Collect PVCs
The commission explained that voters who registered, transferred their registration or requested replacement of lost PVCs between August and December 2025 under phase one would be able to check and collect their cards during the exercise.
INEC, however, said other PVCs would become available for collection as soon as the cards were received by the Taraba State office from its headquarters in Abuja.
The commission urged registered voters to visit their designated registration areas to verify their names and other details on the voters’ register and confirm their registration status.
It also encouraged voters to use the opportunity to raise claims or objections where necessary.
According to the commission, the exercise will be conducted daily from 9am to 3pm during the stipulated period.
INEC said that while the register display would close on October 16, PVC collection would thereafter revert to the commission’s local government area offices.
