Key Highlights:

  • Ilebaye Odiniya’s mother, Ms. Lami Calista, defended her daughter amid ongoing family controversy involving her father.
  • She denied claims that Ilebaye neglected her father financially, stating the reality star spent over ₦30 million on his medical care, including treatment trips to India.
  • Ms. Calista alleged Ilebaye provided multiple financial supports, including ₦7 million, ₦5 million, and an additional ₦3 million for her father’s treatment.
  • She also said Ilebaye pays her siblings’ school fees and gives monthly financial support to the family.
  • The mother dismissed other allegations, including drug-related accusations involving her younger son and claims of cosmetic surgery, calling them false and misleading.

According to her, the reality star spent over ₦30 million on her father’s medical care, including multiple trips to India for treatment.

She revealed that Ilebaye allegedly gave her father ₦7 million for his medical trip to India in 2023, and another ₦5 million during a later trip.

Ms. Lami further claimed that when he complained that the money was not enough, the BBNaija star sent an extra ₦3 million.

The mother also stated that Ilebaye regularly supports the family financially by paying the school fees of her younger brothers and providing monthly support to her father.

Ms. Lami alleged that the disagreement escalated after Ilebaye refused to surrender all her prize money and declined a request to give her father ₦50 million.

Reacting to accusations that the reality star introduced her younger brother to drugs, Ms. Lami denied the allegation, explaining that the controversy involved an empty shisha pen allegedly found in Ilebaye’s room.

According to her, the boy innocently took the item to school to ask classmates about it before the matter was reported.

She maintained that no drugs were involved and said the issue was eventually resolved without any expulsion.

Also, she denied claims that Ilebaye secretly underwent cosmetic surgery, insisting there had been no body enhancement procedures.

Speaking on the emotional impact of the controversy, Ms. Lami said the allegations of drug use deeply affected her daughter because of the stigma attached to such accusations, especially coming from a parent.

The controversy has continued to dominate conversations on social media, with several celebrities and commentators reacting to the ongoing family dispute involving the reality TV star.
