In a recent development, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has approved the deployment of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) to various State Commands and Formations.
This decision, as conveyed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, aims to fortify community engagement and communication.
The appointed officers are entrusted with the crucial task of cultivating positive relationships between the Nigeria Police Force and the diverse communities under their purview.
Among the notable postings, SP Ayuba Tunni Umma assumes the role of PPRO for Zone 2 in Lagos, while SP Hauwa Idris Adamu takes charge as PPRO for Nigeria Police Cooperative.

Other appointments include DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi as PPRO for Kwara State, ASP Unah Paul Echefunachi as PPRO for Ebonyi, ASP Rufa’i Ahmed as PPRO for Sokoto, and ASP Musa Mohammed as PPRO for Bayelsa.
In a parallel move, ASP Abuka Pius has been designated as a Staff Officer to the Public Complaint Bureau within the Force Public Relations Department at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Highlighting the significance of community collaboration in effective policing, IGP Egbetokun urges the newly assigned officers to forge strong bonds with the communities they serve.
He further emphasizes the need for these officers to champion policing ideals and community-centric initiatives championed by the leadership of their respective Commands and Formations.
