Heartland football club slugs it out with MFM weekend on March day 19 to fight for a breath of survival out of the relegation zone at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
The Spartans, presently at the 18th position of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table with 19 points from 18 games, secured most of its points from its home games The Trumpet gathered.
Heartland’s last three away games against Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, and Katsina United, got only 1 point from a maximum of 9 points.
However, the Spartans got a maximum of nine points in their last three home games against Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba, and Lobi Stars, projecting the club in a better position of having a strong home support base.
Meanwhile, MFM, in its last match against Nasarawa United which ended in a 1-1 stalemate, has a fairly good away record having drawn three of its last away matches. MFM rocks the bottom of the NPFL table with 16 points from 18 features, three points below the Owerri-based Heartland.

The game is going to be a tough clash between both teams fighting their way out of the red zone. Both teams have met three times with Heartland winning two of the contests while playing a 1-1 stalemate.
More so, Spartans after this weekend’s match with the MFM, will in turn visit the Olukoya Boys on the 27 March, 2022 at the Agege Stadium, Lagos to continue their NPFL campaign.
