Gunmen have reportedly killed a former Ogun State Television (OGTV) staff, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as ‘Aunty Kitan’, along with her security guard during an attack on her residence in Ogun State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, at her home in Agodo community, along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway, throwing residents and members of the media community into mourning.
Sources said the bodies of the deceased were later evacuated and deposited at the morgue in Ijaiye, Abeokuta.
Although, the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, community sources disclosed that church members became worried after Oyesiku failed to attend a church service and could not be reached on her phone.
Concerned by her absence, they reportedly visited her residence to check on her welfare, where they made the grim discovery.
According to a source familiar with the incident, the visitors first found the security guard lying dead before discovering Oyesiku’s lifeless body inside the premises.
Following the discovery, the church members immediately raised an alarm, prompting security agencies to intervene.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the command is aware of the killings and would issue a comprehensive statement after preliminary investigations.
Until her death, Oyesiku was a respected broadcaster who served with the Ogun State Television before retiring from active service.
Her killing has sent shockwaves through media circles and across Ogun State, with colleagues, friends and residents expressing grief over the loss of the veteran broadcaster.
The police have commenced investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible for the killings.
