The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday after the gunmen allegedly stormed the hospital and went directly to Ogbaji’s office, where he was attending a meeting.
Speaking about the incident, the victim’s daughter, Patience Ogbaji, said the armed men ordered her father to follow them after entering his office.
According to her, the assailants arrived in a Toyota Sienna, took her father into the vehicle and drove away to an unknown destination.
Patience said the family had yet to establish contact with Ogbaji since the incident and appealed to members of the public to assist in efforts to ensure his safe return.
She urged anyone with useful information about her father’s whereabouts to assist the family and security agencies.
Police Yet To Confirm Incident
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Benue State Police Command were unsuccessful as calls and text messages sent to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Orchia Peter Aondongu, were not answered as of the time of filing this report.
