Armed assailants, believed to be herders have killed three individuals in Tse Bawa, a Tiv village located in Chanchanji Ward, Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Reports indicate that the attackers invaded the community on the afternoon of Friday, January 30, 2026, firing shots indiscriminately and causing panic among residents.
The deceased have been identified as Faasema Alibo, Mr. Mfavega, and an elderly man from the Chanwa community.

Witnesses described the assault as unexpected, prompting many villagers to flee into nearby bushes for safety, leaving homes and farms abandoned.
As of the time of this report, security agencies had not released an official statement regarding the incident.
However, residents voiced their deep concern over what they termed ongoing attacks on Tiv communities in the local government area.
Community members expressed sorrow over the persistent loss of life and urged the Taraba State government and security forces to enhance security measures to prevent further violence and safeguard vulnerable rural populations.
