Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting federal institutions across the state, vowing to strengthen ties between the state government and federal establishments. This pledge was made on Thursday at the Osun State Government House, Osogbo, during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council and management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede.
Governor Adeleke emphasized the historical significance of the Federal Polytechnic, noting that it was established through the relentless efforts of the Ede community. He praised the contributions of the local residents in nurturing the institution since its inception, highlighting their vital role in its development.
“The positive agitation of the Ede community led to the creation of this institution, and since then, the people have played a crucial role in its growth. My administration will continue to support the polytechnic and all other federal institutions within the state,” Adeleke declared.

To further strengthen the bond between the institution and the host community, Adeleke urged the polytechnic’s management to prioritize hiring local residents for project execution. This, he said, would foster a sense of belonging and stimulate the local economy.
During the visit, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Taiwo Olaiya, appealed to Governor Adeleke to leave a lasting legacy at the institution by sponsoring a landmark project that could be named after him.
“We request that you, like your family has always done, contribute to the continued growth of this great institution. We hope you will establish a significant project that future generations will remember you for,” Olaiya said.
Governor Adeleke’s pledge to support federal institutions aligns with his administration’s goal of fostering development and enhancing the economic well-being of local communities in Osun State.
