Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has directed the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), Charles Aniagwu, to take over the affairs of the ministry of information.
Aniagwu will temporarily oversee both ministries following this directive.
Multiple sources within the governor’s immediate circle, disclosed that Aniagwu will succeed Ifeanyi Osuoza, popularly known as commissioner for information.
A close associate to the governor, revealed that the decision was hinged at restructuring the governor’s media and information management team for better effectiveness.
The source which pleaded anonymity said: “The report is true. We are trying to restructure our media and information team for more effectiveness. Charles Aniagwu is expected to officially assume duties at the ministry of information next Monday. He will oversee both ministries for now.”

The development was also confirmed by another source within the Government House, who emphasized that Aniagwu’s experience as a two-term commissioner for information under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa made him a suitable candidate for the dual role.
Under the current administration, Aniagwu had been serving as commissioner for works in -charge of rural roads before this latest assignment.
On whether the current commissioner, Osuoza has been sacked, the source disclosed that the governor intends redeploy him to a different position in due course.
