Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State on Thursday, presented a budget estimate of N396,589,00,620 billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.
The budget shows that the education sector has the highest allocation of N70,143,386.00 billion, followed by the health sector with N39,012,563,000.00 billion.
Presenting the estimates christened: “Budget of economic and social development,” Gov. Nwifuru expressed the hope that the budget estimates will guarantee industrialisation, economic growth, and an improved standard of living in the state.
He noted that his administration believes that educational training should be repositioned to guarantee entrepreneurial knowledge and the acquisition of skills for economic self-reliance at all levels.

“Pursuant to this therefore, we have introduced many reforms in the curriculum of the basic and secondary education sectors to emphasise technology and science.
“To give credence to this, our administration has set out to rejig teaching and learning in public schools through the employment of teachers with bias in technology and entrepreneurial education,” the governor said.
In the budget estimates, the economic and social have N200, 132,170 000.00 billion and N141,180,049,000.00 billion, respectively, representing 50.46 percent and 35.60 percent of the budget.
The administrative, law and justice sectors are allocated N50.9billion, representing 22.8 percent, and N4.1billion, representing 1.04 percent of the total budget.
