The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has distributed a fleet of official vehicles to emirs and district heads across the state in a move aimed at enhancing grassroots governance and improving community engagement.

The initiative saw the allocation of 14 GMC saloon cars, Toyota buses, Hilux vehicles, and more than 100 Toyota Camry cars to district heads.

According to the governor, the provision of the vehicles is intended to boost the mobility and operational efficiency of traditional rulers, enabling them to better serve their communities.

Gov. Mohammed stressed the critical role of traditional institutions in fostering peace, stability, and development, urging beneficiaries to remain non-partisan and uphold the highest standards of integrity in their duties.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Isa Babayo Tilde, reiterated the ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions across the state.

He assured that the vehicles would be used responsibly to support governance and community development efforts.

The distribution forms part of broader efforts by the state government to reinforce traditional leadership structures as key partners in governance at the grassroots level.
