Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has emerged as the unopposed candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Adamawa North Senatorial District following the party’s primary election.
The primary, conducted under the supervision of party officials and stakeholders, reportedly recorded no opposing aspirant cleared to contest the ticket, paving the way for Gov. Fintiri’s emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.
Officials who monitored the exercise stated that the process was conducted in accordance with the APC’s internal guidelines and relevant provisions of the Electoral Act.

They noted that the absence of other qualified contenders automatically returned the governor as the party’s flag bearer for the senatorial district.
Political observers in Adamawa State described the outcome as a significant development within the party’s structure in Adamawa North, with some party insiders characterising the move as a “strategic consensus” ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Although official accreditation figures were yet to be released at the time of filing this report, stakeholders present at the venue commended the process as peaceful, orderly, and transparent.
With the outcome of the primary, Gov. Fintiri is now set to contest for the Adamawa North Senatorial seat on the platform of the APC in the next senatorial election.
