For more than two decades, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has remained one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music stars.

But beyond the hit songs, awards and decades-long career, the singer’s complicated romantic history has repeatedly placed him at the centre of public attention.

From his relationships with Sunmbo Adeoye and Pero Adeniyi, to his years-long romance and marriage to Annie Idibia, and more recently, his relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, 2Baba’s love life has consistently generated headlines.

Now, amid reports of trouble in his relationship with Natasha and a fresh social media development involving Annie, questions about the singer’s romantic future have resurfaced.

Could 2Baba and Annie find their way back to each other? And if the singer were to return, would Annie be willing to open that door again?

To understand why such questions are being asked, it is necessary to revisit the relationship history that brought the singer to this point.

Before his marriage, the singer was involved with Sunmbo Adeoye and Pero Adeniyi, both of whom are mothers of his children.

2Baba has seven children with three women — two with Sunmbo, three with Pero and two with Annie.

His relationships with the mothers of his children became an important part of the story surrounding his marriage to Annie, particularly because those relationships meant that his past could never be completely separated from his present.

One of the biggest controversies came in September 2021 when Annie publicly accused 2Baba of spending nights with Pero.

The allegation triggered a fierce social media storm and exposed tensions that had long surrounded the singer’s relationships with the women in his life.

For Annie, the issue went beyond 2Baba’s history with Pero. Pero is also the mother of three of his children, meaning that she would inevitably remain connected to him and his family regardless of what happened between them romantically.

That complicated reality repeatedly became a source of public attention during Annie and 2Baba’s marriage.

Long before they became husband and wife, however, Annie and 2Baba had already built a relationship that survived breakups, reconciliations and the singer’s involvement with other women.

The couple formalised their relationship in 2012, while their civil wedding was held in Dubai in March 2013. They went on to have two daughters.

For many observers, Annie’s marriage to 2Baba represented the culmination of a relationship that had endured for years despite the singer’s complicated romantic history.

However, marriage did not put an end to the controversies. Their union was repeatedly tested by rumours, accusations, emotional exchanges and disputes linked to 2Baba’s past and present relationships.

Despite the challenges, the couple repeatedly managed to find their way back to each other.

That history of separation and reconciliation would later become one of the reasons some fans continued to believe that another reunion was always possible.

But on January 26, 2025, 2Baba announced that he and Annie had separated and that he had begun the process of ending their marriage.

The announcement shocked many, especially after years of surviving relationship crises. Many had expected the couple to eventually overcome yet another challenge.

This time, however, another woman quickly became central to the unfolding story.

Her name was Natasha Osawaru.

Natasha, an Edo State lawmaker, emerged publicly as 2Baba’s new love interest following his separation from Annie.

The timing immediately generated controversy.

Just weeks after announcing his separation, 2Baba proposed to Natasha in February 2025.

The development created a striking contrast between the singer’s past and present.

Annie was his wife of about 12 years, the mother of two of his children and a woman with whom he had shared a relationship long before they got married.

Natasha, meanwhile, had entered his life at a time when his marriage to Annie was coming to an end, and the relationship appeared to progress rapidly.

The speed of the new romance led to widespread speculation about what had happened behind the scenes.

Some believed 2Baba had simply found someone he genuinely wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

The singer himself repeatedly spoke positively about Natasha and defended their relationship against claims that she was responsible for the collapse of his marriage.

He also rejected suggestions that Natasha was merely a rebound.

Another interpretation was that 2Baba may have emotionally moved on from his marriage before he publicly announced the separation.

If so, his rapid relationship with Natasha may have reflected a decision he had already made privately rather than a sudden reaction to his marriage ending.

There was also speculation that Natasha had offered the singer emotional support during a difficult period.

However, those interpretations remain speculation.

There is no established evidence that 2Baba entered his relationship with Natasha to spite Annie, escape his marriage or prove a point.

What is clear is that the singer appeared convinced that Natasha was the person he wanted to be with at that stage of his life.

## The Natasha Chapter Takes Another Turn

The Natasha relationship later entered an even more significant phase with the arrival of a child.

Natasha reportedly gave birth to a child for 2Baba, adding a new and deeply personal dimension to a relationship that had already attracted intense public attention.

The birth was significant because it meant that Natasha was no longer simply the woman who became 2Baba’s partner after his separation from Annie. She had reportedly become the mother of another of the singer’s children, further intertwining their lives and making any future separation considerably more complicated.

The development also added another layer to the ongoing public conversation about 2Baba’s family.

The singer already has children with Sunmbo Adeoye, Pero Adeniyi and Annie Idibia. The reported arrival of a child with Natasha therefore expanded an already complex family structure.

For Natasha, the relationship was no longer simply about being 2Baba’s new partner; it reportedly involved building a family with him.

And for anyone speculating about a possible return to Annie, that reality cannot be ignored.

The timeline, however, remained striking.

2Baba announced his separation from Annie in January 2025, proposed to Natasha the following month, and by July, reports emerged that the pair had formalised their relationship through a traditional wedding in Abuja.

The ceremony was reportedly held on July 25, 2025, in the presence of family members and close associates.

That meant that within approximately six months of announcing the end of his marriage to Annie, 2Baba had reportedly moved into another marriage.

The speed of the transition became one of the most controversial elements of the saga and made Natasha a target of criticism from those who felt the relationship had developed too soon.

2Baba, however, consistently rejected the narrative that Natasha was responsible for the collapse of his marriage to Annie.

Now, the relationship that began with so much certainty is facing fresh scrutiny.

In August 2026, reports emerged of an alleged confrontation involving 2Baba and Natasha outside a nightclub in Abuja.

Videos circulated online appearing to show the pair involved in a heated exchange. However, the footage did not capture the complete context of the incident and did not establish what triggered the alleged disagreement.

Reports subsequently claimed that 2Baba had told Natasha that he was no longer interested in continuing their relationship.

Those claims remain unverified allegations.

Amid the uncertainty, another development has captured public attention. Following their separation, Annie and 2Baba had unfollowed each other on Instagram.

But on August 9, 2026, the estranged couple followed each other again. The report further noted that 2Baba was no longer following Natasha on Instagram at the time.

The development may mean nothing beyond a social media change. But given the history between 2Baba and Annie, it was enough to reignite speculation about the possibility of reconciliation.

Could 2Baba be finding his way back to Annie?

It is possible, but a reunion would hardly be straightforward. Annie and 2Baba have something that cannot simply be recreated overnight — history.

They share years of memories, two children, a marriage, breakups, reconciliations and experiences that have shaped their lives. Their relationship has already demonstrated that separation does not necessarily mean the end for them.

But there is a significant difference between reconnecting with an ex and rebuilding a marriage. If 2Baba were to seek Annie’s return, he would have to confront the issues that contributed to the collapse of their marriage.

Trust would have to be rebuilt. Past wounds would have to be addressed.

And both parties would have to determine whether they had changed sufficiently to prevent the same problems from resurfacing.

Then there is Natasha.

2Baba’s relationship with Natasha reportedly went beyond dating and progressed to a traditional marriage. The reported birth of their child adds an even more complicated dimension to any suggestion that the singer could simply return to Annie.

Perhaps the biggest question, however, is not whether 2Baba wants Annie back. It is whether Annie would want him back.

Would she trust him again?

Would she be willing to forgive the past?

Would she believe that the problems that contributed to the collapse of their marriage had genuinely been resolved?

And after years of having their relationship played out under intense public scrutiny, would she be willing to put herself through it all again?

Only Annie can answer those questions.

For now, the Instagram follow is not evidence of a reconciliation. Previous speculation has also shown why caution is necessary.

In July 2026, rumours intensified after a video appearing to show Annie and 2Baba together circulated online. The footage, however, was reportedly clarified as old.

So far, there has been no confirmed announcement of a reunion between the estranged couple.

Still, 2Baba’s love life continues to attract extraordinary attention because of the singer’s stature and the long-running public interest in his relationships.

His romantic history involves children with multiple women, a highly publicised marriage, years of controversy surrounding his former relationships and a new relationship that reportedly progressed from romance to proposal, traditional marriage and parenthood within a relatively short period.

Consequently, virtually every development attracts attention.

A disagreement becomes news.

A proposal becomes news.

A wedding becomes news.

A baby becomes news.

An Instagram unfollow becomes news.

And now, an Instagram follow has become enough to revive questions about a possible reconciliation.

From Sunmbo and Pero to Annie and Natasha, 2Baba’s romantic history has taken several unexpected turns.

He spent years navigating complicated relationships before building a marriage with Annie.

He later announced the end of that marriage and moved rapidly into a relationship with Natasha.

That relationship reportedly progressed to marriage and the birth of a child.

Now, with reports of tension surrounding his relationship with Natasha and a renewed social media connection with Annie, the singer’s past has once again collided with his present.

The woman many believed 2Baba had finally left behind is suddenly back at the centre of the conversation.

But reconnecting is not the same as reconciling.

Following an ex on Instagram does not mean they are back together, just as reports of tension between 2Baba and Natasha do not automatically establish that their marriage has ended.

And with a reported child linking 2Baba and Natasha, any possible reunion with Annie would carry consequences far beyond romance.

But if 2Baba eventually turns back to Annie, the biggest question will not simply be whether he wants her again.

It will be whether Annie is willing to open that door.

After everything they have endured, finding his way back to Annie may prove far easier than convincing her to let him in again.
