Nigerian singer Flavour has opened up about a period in his life when he struggled with masturbation addiction.
The singer shared his experience during a TikTok live session with friends, revealing that the habit started after he lost his virginity and later lost contact with the woman.
According to Flavour, he turned to masturbation after being left without a sexual partner. He said a friend’s introduction to Mapouka dance videos from Congo also contributed to the habit.
Flavour said the addiction became so serious that he felt ashamed and found it difficult to relate normally with his friends, even during simple activities like playing football.
He said he initially sought help from his mother’s pastor, who described himself as a guidance and counselling expert. The pastor reportedly advised him to embark on a 21-day fast and follow some prayer points.

However, Flavour said the habit returned only a few days later.
The singer eventually opened up to a bassist he played music with, who told him that his struggle could be linked to his age and lack of regular sexual activity.
Flavour said the bassist took him to a brothel and paid for him to have sex with a woman.
He revealed that he later began using the money he earned from playing instruments to visit brothels weekly.
According to Flavour, this eventually helped him overcome his masturbation addiction.
