Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the relaxation of the curfew imposed on Mubi Local Government Area following an improvement in the security situation.
Under the revised arrangement, vehicular movement, including tricycles and electric bicycles, will be restricted between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily, while pedestrians will be allowed to move until 10:00 p.m. pending further directives from the state government.
The adjustment, according to the governor, is aimed at maintaining public order while allowing economic activities to gradually return to normal in the commercial hub.
Fintiri commended residents of Mubi for their cooperation and compliance with the initial curfew, saying their support contributed significantly to the restoration of peace in the area.
The governor described Mubi as one of Adamawa’s major commercial centres and an important hub for trade, agriculture and cross-border commerce in the North-East.
He said the government was committed to protecting lives and property without unnecessarily disrupting legitimate business activities.

“Government is committed to protecting lives and property while also ensuring that economic activities are not unduly disrupted,” Fintiri said.
He urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies and remain vigilant to safeguard the peace achieved in the area.
Fintiri also warned criminal elements and miscreants against engaging in activities capable of threatening the peace in Mubi, stressing that anyone found committing offences would face the full weight of the law.
“The government will not fold its arms and allow a few individuals to jeopardize the peace we have worked hard to restore,” he said.
The governor further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women’s groups to consolidate security gains and ensure that Mubi remains safe and conducive for commerce.
