Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the ongoing Jimeta Modern Stadium project in Yola, while directing the contractor to accelerate construction to ensure the facility is completed without further delay.
Governor Fintiri gave the directive on Tuesday during an inspection tour of the project site, where he assessed the level of work already completed.
The governor described the construction as impressive and commended the quality of execution. However, he noted that the project ought to have been completed by now but had suffered setbacks due to unforeseen challenges.
To ensure the project is delivered successfully, Fintiri instructed the contractor to meet with him to discuss an extension of time that would facilitate the completion of the stadium.
He expressed optimism that once completed, the Jimeta Modern Stadium would position Adamawa State to host major national sporting events and competitions, while boosting sports development, youth engagement and economic activities across the state.
