The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with Kaduna State to expand humanitarian interventions and strengthen social protection programmes aimed at reducing poverty and supporting vulnerable Nigerians.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, gave the assurance while receiving the Kaduna State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Comrade Yunana Markus Barde, and the Chairman of the Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Umar Auwal Bajimi, during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.
Dr. Doro said the Ministry remains focused on building stronger partnerships with state governments to ensure coordinated and sustainable humanitarian responses across the country.
He highlighted ongoing reforms, including the launch of the National Poverty Lab, which is designed to promote evidence-based policymaking and accelerate efforts to reduce poverty nationwide.
The Minister also underscored the importance of the One Humanitarian, One Poverty Response System (OHOPRS), describing it as a strategic framework for harmonising humanitarian and poverty reduction initiatives while ensuring interventions reach those who need them most.

He commended the Kaduna State Commissioner for his active participation in the Ministry’s flagship programmes, including the rollout of OHOPRS and other key humanitarian engagements, noting that such collaboration is critical to achieving lasting impact.
Dr. Doro further expressed his readiness to visit Kaduna State to reinforce the partnership and advance shared humanitarian and social development priorities.
Earlier, Commissioner Barde congratulated the Minister on the recent wedding of his daughter and praised the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with state governments.
He appealed for increased Federal Government support for programmes targeting persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in Kaduna State, stressing the need for expanded interventions to improve their welfare.
