This transformation means that the facility will now serve as a vital training ground for medical students from the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), offering them crucial hands-on experience and fulfilling their professional requirements.
Under the leadership of Dr Aliyu Hamza Balarabe, the hospital management has warmly embraced this development and pledged full support towards its successful implementation.
The initiative, spearheaded by the current administration led by President Tinubu, aims to enhance the delivery of healthcare services to the residents of Kebbi State and beyond.

With its new status as a federal university teaching hospital, FMC Birnin Kebbi will see an elevation in its referral capabilities, transitioning into a higher tertiary referral center.
This upgrade is particularly significant as the hospital already serves as a referral tertiary-level facility.
In light of this milestone achievement, Malam Abdulmuminu Bawa Yauri underscored the commitment of the hospital’s management to provide unwavering support and diligently fulfil their official duties in the service of the community.
