The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over N108 million recovered from an alleged fraud involving two former employees of Greenwich Planet Sun King Nigeria Limited in Lagos.

The funds, presented as bank drafts by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, were recovered during an investigation into allegations of abuse of office, forgery, stealing and diversion of company funds.

According to the anti-graft agency, investigations revealed that Nkechi Gladys Megai, who allegedly fled to the United Kingdom and is currently at large, alongside the company’s former Chief Financial Officer, Godson Eze, forged documents, created fake invoices in the names of legitimate vendors and diverted company funds through fraudulent transactions carried out over time.

The EFCC disclosed that the fraudulent payments amounted to several hundreds of millions of naira, with investigations still ongoing.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Acting Zonal Director of EFCC Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE I) Bawa Usman Kaltungo, reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring victims of financial crimes recover stolen assets wherever possible.

He added that efforts are ongoing to apprehend everyone linked to the fraud, including suspects who have fled the country, and ensure they face justice.


thanked the EFCC for its professionalism and thorough investigation, noting that the recovered N108 million would help cushion the financial losses suffered by the company.
