The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC ) has declared the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and diversion of public funds.
The anti-graft agency published the notice on Saturday, stating that the 52-year-old former minister, who hails from Zamfara State, is being sought in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct.
According to the notice signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Farouq’s last known address is listed as EN 008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
“The public is hereby notified that Sadiya Umar Farouq, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and diversion of public funds,” the statement read.

The commission appealed to members of the public with useful information about her whereabouts to contact any of its offices nationwide, the nearest police station, or reach the agency through its official communication channels.
Farouq served under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2023 as minister overseeing humanitarian affairs and social development programmes.
