The Abuja Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the Chief Executive Officer of Blackrock Apartments & Suites Limited, Aminu Datti Ahmed before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, over an alleged N15 million fraud.
Ahmed was brought before Justice M.S. Idris on Thursday, July 30, 2026, on a one-count charge bordering on the alleged misappropriation of funds.
According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly converted N15 million that was mistakenly credited into his Taj Bank account in 2025.
The anti-graft agency told the court that the money was originally intended for Braverock Investment Limited as part of payment for a property transaction but was instead received in an account belonging to Ahmed, who allegedly converted the funds to personal use.
The charge states that the alleged act contravenes Sections 308 and 309 of the Penal Code Law, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Ahmed pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Following his plea, the EFCC prosecuting counsel, N.M. Tertsua urged the court to fix a trial date and remand the defendant in a correctional facility.
However, defence counsel, Isyaku Musa applied for bail, a request the prosecution did not oppose.
Justice Idris granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties.
The court ruled that one of the sureties must be a businessman with a registered business certificate and must depose to an affidavit in support of the bail bond.
The case was adjourned until October 21, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
