Nigerian content creator DJ Chicken has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos, after being arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State, over alleged threats against Seyi Tinubu.
The social media personality was arraigned on Friday, on a three-count charge bordering on alleged cybercrime offences, breach of peace, and making threats to kill following a viral video in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu’s life and claimed that President Bola Tinubu would not secure re-election in 2027.
According to the prosecution, the video violated provisions of the Cybercrimes Act and prompted his arrest.
Although DJ Chicken later retracted the statements, insisting they were made as a joke to attract attention, authorities proceeded with his prosecution.
