The management of Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, has approved the indefinite suspension and rustication of three students following the consideration of reports and recommendations submitted by the institution’s Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC).
The disciplinary action was announced in the university’s Official Bulletin (Vol. 11, No. 180) dated July 14, 2026, and signed off by the university management.
According to the bulletin, the sanctions were imposed after the affected students were found to have violated the institution’s disciplinary regulations.
The affected students are:
Ididi Stephen Somtochukwu, of the Faculty of Management Sciences/Business Administration, was placed on indefinite suspension for failing to appear before the Student Disciplinary Committee over an alleged drug-related matter. The suspension will remain in force pending his appearance before the committee.
Edugiri Precious, of the Faculty of Science/Geology, also received an indefinite suspension for failing to appear before the SDC over allegations of conspiracy and stealing. The university said the suspension will continue until the student appears before the committee.

Odili Precious Ashionye, of the Faculty of Computing/Data Science, was rusticated for two semesters, with the punishment taking effect from the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, following an offence involving fighting that resulted in bodily harm.
The university management stated that the disciplinary measures were taken after careful consideration of the Student Disciplinary Committee’s findings and recommendations, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to maintaining discipline, order, and a conducive learning environment.
The announcement forms part of the university’s latest official bulletin, which also contained appointments of senior academic officers and a staff change of name.
The management urged members of the university community to continue to uphold the institution’s rules and regulations, warning that acts of misconduct would attract appropriate disciplinary action in line with the university’s established procedures.
