The Delta State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has been thrown into mourning following the killing of its Secretary General, Bishop Clarence Chinedu James, by suspected assassins.
Bishop James, who served as the General Overseer of Endtime Reconciliation Ministries in Asaba, was reportedly attacked and killed on Tuesday under circumstances that remain unclear. Sources indicated that the assailants fled the scene with the cleric’s vehicle after the attack.

Confirming the incident, the state PFN described the development as shocking and deeply tragic. In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Press, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, on behalf of the State Chairman, Bishop Abos Willie, the body called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the killing.

The PFN leadership also disclosed that two suspects, including the deceased’s driver, have been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command and are currently being interrogated.
Expressing grief over the loss, the Christian body urged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to ensure that those responsible for the crime are swiftly identified and brought to justice.
According to the statement, the late Bishop James was killed on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, by yet-to-be-identified attackers, an incident that has left the PFN community across the state in deep sorrow.
The PFN chairman, Bishop Abos Willie, described the murder as a painful loss, noting that the entire fellowship in Delta State is grieving and calling for justice for the slain cleric.
