Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called on celebrities and entertainers to speak up against the rising insecurity and injustice across Nigeria.

The singer made the statement in a series of posts shared on X on Saturday, expressing concern over the worsening state of the country and the increasing cases of violence and abductions.
According to Davido, public figures, including himself, have not done enough to use their platforms to address pressing national issues affecting millions of Nigerians.
“We entertainers dey mess up, including me. We need to speak up. Too much injustice is going on. Our country don go,” he wrote.
The music star acknowledged that celebrities often face criticism whether they choose to comment on national matters or remain silent.
However, he insisted that individuals should always act according to their conscience.
“Talk, dem go abuse you. No talk, dem go still abuse you. Do wetin your heart tell you. No reason am. Still pray for Nigeria,” he added.
Davido also expressed grief over recent tragic events in the country, particularly incidents linked to insecurity and kidnapping.
He extended his sympathies to victims and their families while calling for divine intervention.

“I’m weak. God please take control. We can’t continue like this. My heart goes out to the victims and family. This is messed up,” the singer stated.
His comments come amid public outrage following the reported abduction of pupils and teachers from a school in Oyo State.
The incident allegedly resulted in the deaths of two teachers after they were taken by kidnappers.
Davido’s remarks have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians praising the singer for lending his voice to growing concerns over insecurity, injustice, and governance in the country.
Earlier in the week, rapper and activist Falz also joined civil society groups in demanding stronger action from authorities and calling for protests over the abduction of schoolchildren.
