Cubana Chief Priest Shifts Focus From Luxury Cars to Production
In the video shared by @General_Somto, Cubana Chief Priest said his experience in China had given him a different perspective on business and wealth creation.
“My trip to China has changed my view about everything. I came here and I’m humbled,” he said.
He added that after receiving his new Rolls-Royce, he wanted to shift his attention away from buying more luxury items towards production and investment.
“After receiving my new Rolls-Royce, no more cars and watches. It’s going to be production on production,” he said.
The businessman further explained that he was considering redirecting money intended for a Ferrari towards establishing a production company in Owerri.
“The money I would use to buy my Ferrari, I will use it to set up a production company in Owerri and employ not less than 1,000 people,” he stated.
However, the proposed investment remains a declaration of intent, as no confirmed details about the company’s operations or implementation timeline have been made public.
From Luxury Car Collection to Business Investment
Cubana Chief Priest, who operates Club Xhrine in Owerri, is widely associated with luxury cars, extravagant displays of wealth and celebrity gatherings.
His collection has included vehicles such as a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Range Rovers and a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. In 2021, he also unveiled a Geely X7 SUV in Owerri.
In August 2024, he drove a convoy of luxury vehicles into Imo State for the August meeting and referred to himself as the Abata 1 of Owerri.
His latest statement signals a proposed change in spending priorities, with the businessman suggesting that future money intended for another luxury car could instead support a local production venture.
While the announcement has attracted attention, it remains unclear whether the proposed company would operate in manufacturing, food processing, consumer goods or another industry.
China Trip Inspires Proposed Owerri Factory
Cubana Chief Priest attributed his change in perspective to his visit to China, saying the experience had humbled him and encouraged him to prioritise production.
China is a major global manufacturing centre, and the businessman appears to be drawing inspiration from its production-focused economy.
His previous purchase of a Geely SUV, a vehicle from a Chinese automotive brand, also reflects an existing connection with Chinese products. However, the proposed Owerri venture would represent a different ambition: establishing a production business locally rather than purchasing another imported luxury vehicle.
He has yet to disclose the proposed factory’s location, the products it would manufacture, the capital required or the partners who might support the project.
The pledge to employ at least 1,000 people could have implications for job creation in Owerri if the plan moves forward, but the number remains a target announced by the businessman rather than a confirmed employment commitment backed by an established project.
Nigerians React to Cubana Chief Priest’s Announcement
The video attracted engagement on social media, with users responding to his proposed shift from luxury spending to production and employment.
Among those reacting was @MaduagwuNzubec1, who quoted the post with the Igbo expression, “Mgbe onye ketara bu ututu ya,” alongside celebratory emojis. The expression can be understood in the context of one’s time or opportunity eventually arriving.
Other reactions focused on the prospect of investment in Owerri and the possibility of creating jobs instead of spending on another supercar.
The announcement has also drawn attention to the broader conversation about wealth, entrepreneurship and the role private investment could play in creating employment opportunities in Nigeria.

Factory Plan Yet to Be Detailed
Despite the attention generated by the video, several key questions remain unanswered. Cubana Chief Priest has not identified the products the proposed company would manufacture, disclosed a specific site in Owerri or announced a launch date.
There is also no publicly confirmed information about the project’s financing, business partners or the steps taken towards construction and operations.
For now, his statement represents an intention to redirect part of his luxury spending towards a production business that he says could employ at least 1,000 people.
Whether the proposal develops into an operational factory will depend on the details and implementation steps that follow.
