Crystal Palace have brought back Ivory Coast forward Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season at Selhurst Park, helping Palace win the Conference League in May after joining the club on loan in January.
Guessand arrived at Aston Villa in August 2025 in a £26 million transfer but struggled to establish himself, scoring just two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions during the first half of the campaign.
His fortunes improved after moving to Palace, where he scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He was also involved in Palace’s Conference League triumph, coming off the bench during the final against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.
Despite returning to Villa for pre-season after Palace initially declined the opportunity to make his move permanent, the London club have now secured his services for another season.
The new agreement contains a route to a permanent transfer, although the two clubs have described the terms differently. Aston Villa say the deal includes a “conditional obligation to buy”, while Palace describe it as an “option to buy.”

Guessand also represented Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making two substitute appearances during the tournament.
His return provides Palace with additional attacking depth as the club prepares for another demanding season following its European success.
Guessand will now look to build on his productive spell at Selhurst Park and establish himself as an important part of Palace’s squad.
