Chelsea’s searchlight on Raheem Sterling

Chelsea are considering a move to snap the pacy winger from Manchester City this summer to sharpen the cutting edge of Thomas Tuchel’s side attacks.

The Blues struggled last season to convert several opportunities in front of goal with Romlelu Lukaku’s rustiness compounding their woes.

The 2021 UEFA Champions League winners at the early start of last season led the log and maintained it to a circa midway but a drop in goal conversion coefficients saw them struggle to qualify for a Champions League spot on the Premier League table.

However, club manager Thomas Tuchel pose to bring in some new additions to the team and has pencilled Raheem Sterling as a prime target for the Blues, The Trumpet gathered.

According to transfer expert Fabrizo Romano, Tuchel is a big fan of the Manchester City striker, who scored 17 goals with 9 assists last season, and itches towards bringing him to Stamford Bridge. “Raheem Sterling, for sure one of the names on Chelsea list with Thomas Tuchel big fan of the English winger. Chelsea have explored conditions of the deal,” Romano said.

“No direct talks between Man City and Chelsea or bid yet. Depends on other deals like Lukaku, Ousmane and more,” he added. Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is close to returning to Italy with Inter Milan already in talks to bring the Belgian striker to San Siro on a seasonlong loan.

Chelsea are reported to value the striker at €15m but Nerazzurri are unwilling to pay above €10m to bring in Lukaku, who is extremely willing to leave Stamford Bridge to rediscover his goalscoring prowess under Simone Inzaghi.
