Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle on Wednesday named his squads for the 2026 Unity Cup Mini-Tournament and upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal in Europe next month.

The selections highlight a mix of experienced stars and exciting newcomers, signaling Nigeria’s intent to retain its Unity Cup title while testing itself against top-tier European opposition.

Chelle’s squad for the tournament at Charlton Athletic Stadium (The Valley) includes captain Wilfred Ndidi, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defenders Bruno Onyemaeachi and Igoh Ogbu, and forwards Moses Simon, Akor Adams, and Terem Moffi, alongside 20 other players.

The Super Eagles will face the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Tuesday, May 26, with the winner advancing to the final against the victor of Jamaica vs India, scheduled for Wednesday, May 27.

New call-ups making their debut include goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, defenders Emmanuel Fernandez, midfielders Raphael Onyedika, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, and forward Rafiu Durosinmi.

Home-based talents like Michael Atata (goalkeeper), defenders Elias Ochobi, Chibueze Oputa, Obinna Igboke, and midfielders Aderemi Adeoye, Ayobami Junior, Tosin Oyedokun also earned spots.

For the high-profile friendlies, Chelle selected a 24-man squad featuring Ndidi, midfielder Alex Iwobi, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, midfielders Frank Onyeka, Alhassan Yusuf, and forwards Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Paul Onuachu.

The Super Eagles will travel to Warsaw, Poland, to face the hosts at the PGE Narodowy Stadium on Wednesday, June 3 (kick-off 8:45 PM local time), before heading to Leiria, Portugal, to face the Portuguese side on Wednesday, June 10 at Estadio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa—Portugal’s final match before the FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria will look to continue its winning momentum in the Unity Cup, while the European friendlies offer a crucial test ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where the Super Eagles will face Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau.
