Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sacked coach Augustine Eguavoen and the entire technical crew of the Super Eagles over the failure of the nation to qualify for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.

The Super Eagles in the second leg of the world cup playoff with the Black Stars of Ghana, played a horrible game which wrote them off as contenders for the ticket to world football stage.

In reaction to the heart broken exit of the Super Eagles from the FIFA World Cup that spurred Nigerians to destroy some facilities of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, the nation’s football governing body sacked the entire technical crew with immediate effect.

According to the NFF statement retrieved by The Trumpet, the Nigeria’s football governing body has withdrawn the two-and-half years contract offered the coaches and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the team with immediate effect.

While the NFF appreciated the technical crew for the services they rendered and wishing them well in their future endeavours, it however divulged that a new technical crew will be appointed to galvanize the Super Eagles to enviable heights in football.

“We thank the coaches and team officials for their service to the nation and wish them success in their future endeavours,” said NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi.
